Established in February 1997, Greg Kelly & Associates have a team of professional investigators engaged to conduct various inquiries on behalf of our valued clients.

Our knowledge and expertise over the years has had us conduct over 3000 forensic and factual investigations involving fire, liability, workers compensation, travel, motor vehicle and industrial accident claims, along with home and business burglary, motor vehicle and property theft.

He initially began his working life as an electrical contractor before joining the NSW Police in 1981. In 1983 he was transferred to the scientific investigation section where he was trained as a crime scene examiner and bomb disposal technician. Greg has been conducting investigations since 1981 and has examined approximately 3000 fire scenes.

After working as a crime scene examiner with the NSW Police, Greg was attached to the State Intelligence Group as the Investigator in the Arson and Explosives Section where he also qualified as a criminal intelligence analyst.

In 1989 he was approached and then appointed by NZI Insurance (now CGU), to accept a position as an investigator dealing with all classes of insurance claims investigation including the forensic examination of fire scenes. He was then appointed in charge of fire investigation with NRMA Insurance, where he remained in that position for 5 years prior to the establishment of Greg Kelly & Associates in February 1997. 
 
Greg has also been involved in the investigation of insurance matters throughout Australia. He is acknowledged Australia wide as an expert in the field of fire investigation and has been accepted at all Court levels to the Supreme Court in various States. He is principally involved in the forensic examination of fire and explosion scenes although he conducts inquiries surrounding fire losses where workload or case complexities requires his involvement. He oversees and co-ordinates all investigations conducted by this company, ensuring a highly ethical and professional approach to our investigation services.

He is currently a lecturer to the NSW Police Arson Investigation Course, was a member of the committee which wrote the graduate diploma in fire investigation now taught at Charles Sturt University and has recently been appointed as the fire and explosion lecturer at the Canberra institute of Technology for the Graduate Diploma in Applied Science.

His day to day activities involve ongoing fire scene examination and investigation of all classes of structures from motor vehicles, tractors and buildings to boats and ships which also saw his appointment to many large fires including HMAS Westralia and giving opinions on fire origin and cause to numerous leading law firms and insurance companies across Australia.
